Re-opening letter for patients after COVID-19 Shelter in Place
Dear Valued Patient,
I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and many of us are looking forward to resuming our routines. While several things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to the safety of our patients and employees.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our office to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. For example:
- Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
- Employees will be provided N95 masks and PPE to prevent cross infections. We also ask that patients wear face covering like a mask or similar cloth.
- Hand sanitization will be encouraged for employees and patients at regular intervals.
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.
- We have implemented in-office arrangements to allow for physical distancing.
- We have supplied each room with a HEPA 13 (0.01 micron) compliant air filter to circulate air up to 10 times each hour. This traps disease carrying particles.
- You will see that our waiting room will no longer offers magazines, coffee or cold drinks, since those items are difficult to disinfect.
- Appointments will be managed to allow for distancing between patients. That might mean that you may be offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. Please call when you arrive since you may need to remain outside until space frees up.
